New Zealand was the first western developed country who signed the Belt and Road agreement with China. It was the first western developed country signed and implemented the China Free Trade Agreement and also the first western developed country who joint the Asian infrastructure investment bank initiated by China. New Zealand and China have achieved many new breakthroughs in political, economic and cultural exchanges in recent years.
The expert team of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences said that the rapid development of the international situation has raised new issues for China-New Zealand relations. The trip to New Zealand mainly focused on understanding the status quo of China-New Zealand cooperation, summarizing advanced experience, sorting out problems and deficiencies, and studying how to best leverage the positive effects of the “Belt and Road Initiative” from the perspective of pragmatic cooperation.
Mr. Zhao Yingxiang, Chairman of Council of NEXT Federation, said that the Federation was borne in the soil of the greatness of the “Belt and Road” initiative. It was formerly the Oceania Silk Road Network. It has always been committed to promoting and assisting multi-party international cooperation and achieving global common interests. We are willing to make positive contributions to the international dialogue and cooperation between the Chinese and New Zealand governments (G), media (M), industry (B) and academics (A) in the glorious journey of the “Belt and Road” construction.
