On 14 May, 2024, the NEXT Federation held a symposium on RCEP Regional Cooperation & Industrial Development in Auckland, focusing on topics such as the construction of the China-New Zealand ” Two Countries Twin Parks”. Delegations from the Jiangmen Municipal Government and China Development Silk Road Capital Management Co., Ltd., as well as local leading experts from relevant industries in New Zealand, attended the symposium.
During the symposium, Mr Yi Zhongqiang, Deputy Director General of the Jiangmen Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, and other guests delivered keynote speeches, providing in-depth insights into the industrial development pattern and future trends of Jiangmen City, and discussing the comparative advantages and potential opportunities of China-New Zealand industrial cooperation. Senior representatives from China Development Silk Road Capital Management Co., Ltd., including Ms Chen Yinghui, and Mr Mike Arand, Former China Business Development Advisor of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Mr Richard Pinfold, Principal of Investment Banking of Pacific Channel, Mr Jason Wang, Partner of Icehouse Ventures, and Mr Frank Xu, President of New Zealand Chinese Building Industry Association, gave speeches, exploring the cooperation potential and opportunities in areas such as industrial investment funds, China-New Zealand investment and trade, deep tech investment, innovation enterprise incubation, and the New Zealand construction industry.

Mr Tony Browne, Chairman of the Council of NEXT Federation and Former Ambassador of New Zealand to China, delivered a concluding speech, warmly welcoming the delegation from Jiangmen City and China Development Silk Road, and highly praising the pragmatic exchanges during the symposium. He expressed high expectations for the bright prospects of China-New Zealand technological investment exchanges and cooperation.
